If you read this post you'll see us playing for a WILD ANIMAL!!

As a reward for reading this post you'll see our first experience with a wild African animal! Exciting right??

Well first you have to look at these pictures;

While in Uganda we are working in two villages. So far you've been seeing pictures from Kikajjo, this is the other half of the Toru Stars brass band in Masanfu.

For their Christmas gig the whole band came together. Emily sometimes has problems with reading music. But its ok we like her anyway.

The trombones + the infamous tuba bell (it screws off!)

Nkwagaliza sekukulu nungi!
(We wish you a merry christmas! In Luganda)

Back to classes in Kikajjo
(working on rhythm in theory and COUNTING OUT LOUD!!)

Helping Rochie write in bar lines (which can sometimes be a little tricky)

FRANKIE GO ZOOM!!

From a performance of traditional African dancing. We were fascinated by this instrument...the Dingidy?

All fun and games until they make you join in. Emily has a very powerful "no".

Frankie getting her moves on.

AND....
AS PROMISED...
A HUGE..
TERRIFYING....
AFRICAN...

cow.
Look how entertained it is by Emily's and Frankie's beautiful playing!

Also as a side note, we had a wonderful surprise performance tonight by an Acapella trio made up of 3 brothers. These boys live right outside Kikajjo and were probably some of the best singers we have heard in a long time. They sang some hymns and a piece they composed by themselves. Their arrangements were breathtaking and actually brought Liz to tears. To say the least; it is aw-inspiring the amount of talent hidden here, and just how special we are to hear some of it.

Well thats all for now...

Sula balounji everybody!!
